Educational Blogging : The End

This time I have spent blogging has been a great learning experience. I have enjoyed reading my fellow classmates' opinions on a variety of subjects and have read blogs from several teaching pathways such as Music Education, Pre-K, and Agriculture, like myself. Whether you are a teacher expressing opinions or a student writing for a class, educational blogging helps develop analytical thinking and promote a higher learning level where we must put our knowledge into thoughts. The New Generation and Agriculture Education

The world population is predicted to reach 9.7 billion by the year 2050. With that increase, agriculture production must increase to feed this growing population. Yet, we still have children avoiding agriculture classes because of a stereotype associated with the agriculture industry. Children observing and working in a greenhouse How can we get this new generation of students interested in agriculture and better prepare us for the future? The answer to this question tends to have a more complex answer but is actually very simple. Students need to be in agriculture classes in order to see the driving force behind our state, country, and world. With a stigma that agriculture classes are only for kids who grew up on a farm or kids who want to be a vet, students do not realize the opportunities that lie ahead of them by participating in agriculture education. students smiling while using computers Welcome to the 21st century! We have 10 year olds with iPhones, televisions in every room, and laptops for every student to use for schoolwork. Technology can be good, and it can be bad, but As teachers, how do we determine the amount of technology used for the learning experience? With an increase in technology and funding for its use in classrooms today, teachers are faced with lots of decisions on what role technology will play in their students learning and how they can regulate its use to not rely too heavily on it. Teachers have opportunities left and right with resources like google classroom, Padlet, Kahoot, etc. However, at what point is it too much technology and not enough teacher interaction in the classroom. Sticking students in front of a laptop or tablet all hours of the day can have a negative impact on their learning due to distractions and too much screen time.
